July Flew By

July was super fun, but it was also very busy.

We spent a lot of time at the beach this month.  My parents have an RV so they were camping the week of 4th of July at Seacliff beach which of course meant we were there most everyday.  To make it a little more of a vacation we got a hotel room in Capitola for 2 days.  It was very nice to be able to stay a little later in the evenings at the beach rather than drive home over 17 every night.

Camille's feet were cold so she tucked them into Aunt Whitney's boots.

One day that week we went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.  My kids LOVE the tunnel with the wave crashing over you.

Allison didn't want to participate in the picture taking.

The next day we took a little side trip to Watsonville and found a berry farm, Gidzich ranch, where we could pay money to pick our own berries!  The kids were expert pickers and we ended up with way more strawberries than we could ever eat.  I ended up making jam with most of it.  You could also pick raspberries and lollaberries.

Allison is ready for the 4th.

Just playing in the sand.

That evening it was firework time.  We had some of those "safe" sparklers.

I tried to get a picture of everyone lined up with their sparklers with the panorama feature on my iphone.  This is the result

The next days the kids wanted to go out on the kayak with Grandpa.
This is as far into the water as they got.  Lilliana jumped out crying because she was scared...

The next week we were back at the beach with friends who were camping at New Brighton.

Camille is just chilling in the back of her sand car.
Lilliana and her friend Kylie.

July isn't over yet, but our Russian River trip needs it's own post...
